HOST AN UNWRAPPED EVENT

WHAT IS AN UNWRAPPED EVENT?

After the count is over, to celebrate completing The Big Plastic Count, we are encouraging participants to host their own Unwrapped results events, as an opportunity to come together, discuss the results and consider further actions.

This can either be organised as a school activity if you are taking part as a teacher with your class, or with your local community, if you are taking part as an individual or household.

An Unwrapped event can take place anytime from 19 April, and could include talks and discussions about the plastic waste problem, as well as fun activities that the whole family can take part in, such as a less-plastic picnic, a community litter pick or a climate-kind craft market.

It’s also a good opportunity to invite your local MP along for a Q&A discussion about the plastic problem, and to hear how they plan to support the Global Plastics Treaty.

HOW DO I TAKE PART?

We’ve created a handy guide that tells you everything you need to know about hosting an Unwrapped event as well as some additional resources to help you plan and promote it.

There are 2 versions of each of the materials - one for schools and another for communities. Resources for communities can be downloaded here:

If you are a teacher, you can head over to the dashboard now to download school versions of these resources.

If you are planning to host an Unwrapped event, we'd love to hear about it!
