We're on the look out for community groups to join our movement. By taking part, you'll gather the evidence we need to push the government to cut plastic. Get your group counting from 9 to 15 March.
GET YOUR COMMUNITY INVOLVED
We’re all doing our bit to recycle – but plastic is still everywhere. The truth is, recycling alone can’t solve the problem when so much plastic is being made.
The UK creates more plastic waste per person than almost any other country. With plastic production set to triple by 2060, we need urgent action. By taking part in The Big Plastic Count, your community can push the government to do just that. It’s a simple, powerful way to bring everyone together. And it’s fun, too!
Make your voices heard. Be part of our people-powered movement for a fair future that’s free from the impacts of the plastics crisis.
Follow these three easy steps to get involved:
GET REGISTERED
Encourage your group members to sign up and get their families or households involved.
Share the link on your Facebook group, WhatsApp, Slack, or by email to spread the word quickly.
TELL EVERYONE
Print our posters (available in colour or black and white) and put them up in your community centre, workplace, school, or local café.
You can also use our ready-made graphics to share on social media. Don’t forget to tag @thebigplasticcount and #TheBigPlasticCount.
COUNT AND SUBMIT
Keep the energy going throughout the week by sharing updates, photos, or how the count is going in your group chat or on social media.
When the week’s done, submit your results online and compare them!
RESOURCES FOR YOU
Each member of your community can sign up individually. Everyone will get a Count Pack with everything they need to take part – plus email updates, tips on reducing plastic, and ideas for getting involved in future campaigns.
